FAQs
Where is Lanai?
Lanai is the sixth-largest of the Hawaiian Islands and the smallest publicly accessible inhabited island in the chain. It is also known as Pineapple Island because of its past as an island-wide pineapple plantation.
What time zone is Lanai located in?
Lanai is on Hawaii-Aleutian Standard Time (HAST) all year round, as they do not observe Daylight Savings Time. To calculate the time difference between your home city and Lanai, please refer to the time zones link found on the Destination page.
What travel expenses are covered?
All travel expenses for you and your guest, including airline tickets, checked baggage fees, travel to and from the airport, airport parking, and travel meals, which meet Beckman Coulter Travel Guidelines, may be expensed with the approval of your direct supervisor.
What meals are covered?
Once you arrive to Lanai, all meals are hosted by Beckman Coulter and are a combination of hosted group meals and resort food and beverage credits. Specific details regarding meals will be provided three weeks prior to the program.
Will there be any additional personal expenses during the trip?
The Inner Circle Program covers the majority of expected expenses, such as all meals and offered activities included within the agenda. However, you may choose to purchase items not included in the program and charge them to your room. For this reason, the Four Seasons Resort Lanai will maintain a separate account for your personal incidental expenses.
Upon check-in, a credit card imprint will be required. Any personal incidental expenses, such as telephone calls, movies, additional food and beverage, Business Center charges, any non-complimentary hotel activities, additional spa charges, non-hosted activities, and gratuities associated with these services, are your responsibility. You may pay for these services at the time they are rendered or charge them to your personal incidental account. Please be sure to stop by the front desk prior to your departure to settle your incidental account. All major credit cards are accepted.
Should I tip drivers, bellman, tour guides, etc.?
Most gratuities during your stay at the Four Seasons Resort Lanai will be covered by Beckman Coulter. This includes tipping waiters, housekeeping, butlers, and porters. If you opt to participate in an activity outside of the program agenda, such as a privately booked spa appointment, the customary tip is 18%.
Will there be internet access at the resort?
Complimentary wireless internet is available in your guestroom and throughout the resort.
Who can assist me if I have difficulty registering online or need to make changes to my registration?
Please contact the Inner Circle Registration Team at [email protected] or at +1 720 722 7354.
Will I need to take PTO for this trip?
Awardees do not need to take personal vacation time to attend this Inner Circle business meeting.
May I take personal vacation time pre- or post-program?
Program Rules state that Awardees and their Guests may not arrive at the selected award destination prior to the program’s official arrival date. Should you decide to travel to another destination prior to or after the program, you will be fully responsible for all personal expenses incurred.
What is appropriate attire?
The dress in Lanai and at the Four Seasons Resort is casual resort wear. Please also prepare for activities in the sun.
Beach Attire: Shorts, cotton shirts, active-wear, bathing suits, beach wraps, and sandals. Sunscreens, sunglasses, and hats are highly recommended. During your free time, beach attire is recommended.
Casual Attire: Bermudas (longer shorts or capri pants) are acceptable. No sleeveless shirts for men. All Business Meetings, Group Activities, and the Final Night Dinner are casual attire. A light sweater or jacket for evenings and air conditioned rooms is recommended.
Resort Casual: For men, Resort Casual is defined as slacks with a collared shirt (no sleeveless or t-shirts). Women will find sun dresses, capri pants, pantsuits, or separates suitable. The Welcome Reception, Dinners On-Property, and Final Night are Resort Casual. The Welcome Reception and Final Night Party will be held outdoors on a grassy lawn space; please select your shoes appropriately.
Awards Attire: Resort Elegant for men (short sleeve dress shirt and nice slacks); no jacket or tie required. Women will find a cocktail dress suitable, with a light wrap. A portion of the Awards evening will be held outdoors on a grassy lawn space, so please select your shoes appropriately.
Will I be able to use my phone in Hawaii?
For all U.S. Awardees, phone service will work normally since this is a U.S. destination.
For Canada Awardees with a Beckman Coulter corporate mobile device, if Bell Canada is your service provider, your service plan includes international roaming. If Rogers Wireless is your service provider, please call Danaher Wireless at 713-800-4556 to activate your phone for international phone services (voice, text, and data) for the duration of this program.
Beckman Coulter will have a program app that will be accessible to all attendees with up-to-date information, agenda, and networking opportunities. Information about the program app will be communicated within electronic documents scheduled to be sent two weeks prior to departure.
Room Deliveries
On each night of the program, the resort’s Bell Staff may deliver important notices and gifts from your Hosts to your room. Please do not inadvertently leave you “Do Not Disturb” light on when you go out for the evening. When packing from home, we suggest that you leave sufficient space in your luggage or bring an additional bag to allow for gifts and other items that you may receive during the program.
Who do I contact if I have questions during my stay?
An Inner Circle Hospitality Desk with event staff will be available throughout the program. Specific Hospitality Desk hours will be outlined in the program agenda and app, which will be provided to you two weeks prior to the program.
